The sleek new XE Falcon was so much more than a facelift of the previous XD range. A second generation Alloy Head engine contributed to improved efficiency, increased power and performance. The sedans heralded a completely new Watts Link Rear Suspension System for greater control, comfort and handling. The sophisticated XE Falcon wrestled the title of Best Selling Car from Holden after a rivalry lasting over 20 years. The XE was also significant in Ford’s history because it was the last Falcon model to wear the V8 badge until 1991.
