 BRAND NEW Statesman de Ville

In the seventies one car redefined the word luxury … the brand new Statesman by GM. Released at the same time as Holden’s futuristic new HQ range, the Statesman was not badged or sold as a Holden. This new marque of distinction, which superseded the Brougham, was aimed at attracting new buyers from the ‘well-heeled’ men about town and winning market share from the successful Ford Fairlane. With an impressive long wheel base, classic design features and lavish interior appointments, the Statesman became the luxury car generations of Australians would aspire to own.  Powered by a 308 cubic inch V8, or optional 350 Chevy engine, the top-of-the-line Statesman de Ville also featured its own uniquely badged vinyl roof and thick reclining front seats with a choice of leather grain vinyl, or stunning Diamond Weave cloth.

The precision-engineering and exquisite detailing of Trax Opal Series was the only way to recapture the excellence of the Statesman de Ville. Take a moment to admire the beautifully recreated split grille, quad headlights, finely-lined lower body strip, sweeping rear fins with vertical tail light assemblies, slightly recessed rear bumper patterns and minute Statesman badges on the matt vinyl roof. Plus, four opening doors, boot and bonnet reveal an immaculate interior in 1:43 scale. Only 2000 models of each colour have been crafted, ensuring the collectability of these debut Statesman releases for years to come.
