The Morris Minor started off as a saloon, however to diversify the range a pickup/utility was introduced by BMC and manufactured in Australia at its factory in Zetland, Sydney. Unlike the saloon the Ute had a separate chassis and the rear dampers were different with stiffer springs to cope with the heavier loads. Powered by the well-known ‘A’ series 4 cylinder engine displacing 948cc the Ute performed reliably well.
